Alex Simpson and BCPM havejust supported the Muruks AFL club to its first Division 1 Asian Championships victory!
Muruk AFL won Division 2 last year and as such they were elevated to Division 1 for 2019. They were definitely considered the underdogs of the competition however.
After a near loss in an early round, our PNG Muruks went on to take the championships with a 36 to 14 win over Hong Kong in the grand final.
The Muruks showed the class of AFL in PNG, showcasing their speed and agility. They may have been small but no one could catch them. “Small is powerful” said the Muruks head coach Kevin Bull.
